Have you ever wondered how to make use of your Linkedin Network? Well, here is an article that will be of great help to you. You may be a person who is new to Linkedin or even a person who is already networked, a venture capitalist or even a CEO of a new startup .com company looking for innovative ideas to be on the top of the mind. This will give you some ideas to start networking and will make Your Network Work For You.
The objective of this article is to help you establish a connect between you and your connections on Linkedin and also to help the already connected communicate and make use of their connections in a manner that is beneficial, effective, interactive and innovative. Although there is no guarantee that these simple techniques will bring in business for you, but I am confident that these tips will keep you well connected and will help you in the long run.
Here is my experience of What Works on Linkedin.
(1) Your USP:
Your Unique Selling Proposition Works for you. It will help bring people into conversation with you. Linked in has an option that allows you to let people know "What are you working on?" Know what your USP is and highlight it here.
(2) Your Approach:
Your approach and your presentation gets you connected with others. This drives people to your profile.
(3) Your Proactiveness:
Your pro activeness in creating opportunities will take you a log way in attracting people to your profile. While doing this there has to be a great level of caution that has to be administered as your pro activeness must not be misunderstood as though you are trying to sell or propagate or popularise your idea/product/proposal/opportunity.
(4) Your Engagement:
Think of a unique wayto engage yourself with your connections. Develop relationships that can be beneficial to you. The most effective way to engage your connections is to send a "I may be of help to you" message within your network. Donot send mass mailers on Linkedin as your connections may not have opted into your mailing list. Send individual mailers one at a time.
(5) Your Networking Status:
On Linkedin you have to be an open networker. An open networker is someone who is willing to allow anyone who wishes to connect. By being an open networker you will make yourself more visible and thus you have a better chance of running into someone who can use what you do. Let people know that you accept invitations. Say yes to anything that allows people to communicate with you on Linkedin.
(6) Your Groups:
Your groups play a yeomans role in developing your connections. Thus it makes sense to join groups of interest. Browse through the groups joined by your connections and figure out what is common between your connections and you.
Thus an USP, the approach, being pro active, engaging your connections, keep yourself open to all and the groups you join can make your Network work for you. I will be thankful to all those people who would implement the above mentioned and let me know the results. I would also be glad to hear from you the first hand feel about this article. Also write to me incase you wish to know more on any topic. I will be happy to help.
